Just wondering if anyone can tell me the point of the new video website, God Tube? What service is it supposed to be providing?
I ask because in their Terms it begins by saying,
"Welcome to GodTube.com, a Christian online video social networking site that connects Christians into a network of believers."
But then as you read on down they declare,
"GODTUBE.COM ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR MONITORING THE SITE"
What? How can it claim to be a Christian service, and yet not assume any responsibility? There are already heresies on it.
So I'm just wondering, am I getting the wrong idea? Is this just business, using the title 'Christian' and 'God' to target a certain market?
Thoughts?

I too wonder about the 'point' of the service. My guess is that it'll die soon. There's no need for it. It's just another Christian copycat that smacks of originality. I'll never use it.

It's rather like the www.hisholyspace.com
It's layout is like MySpace. You'd think they could come up with a more original theme.

"There are already heresies on it."
I hear you. I was alarmed by the anti-Islam video. I think that kind of thing will take us down the broad path that leads to sectarian violence.
And that's the troble with trying to monitor a site like GodTube: whose take on matters of faith will be called a heresy?
I don't think I'll ever go back to GodTube, but I respect their willingness not to be enforcers of Orthodoxy.

I think there's someone, somewhere that sits around and thinks of things they can copy and slap "Christian" on it.
It will never gain traction. It will fall into obscurity and no one will knoe it ever existed.

Does God or Jesus actually post videos? Because that'd be kind of cool. Would definitely help answer the question What would Jesus do?

There is a really good video of R.C. Sproul teaching on double imputation.

Frotzed - Bare in mind that video must be quite a few years old. Let's just say he's aged a little since then.
Cpoteet - Nice video, but as far as I am aware, it ought to have been called 'Counter Imputation', not double. Good find though.

@Armen: No, it is "double" because it goes in two directions (sins to Christ, His righteousness to us).

As a content producer we like GodTube because it isn't blocked by churches or other Christian organizations.
Sites like YouTube and My Space are quite often blocked, but sites like GodTube provides a space for publishing videos that can be more readily accessible.

I thought Godtube was not really needed because we should be on the internet to witness with our videos and discussions not hide away in a ghetto. Besides it took way too long for me to upload a testimonial video I made. Posted on youtube instead.

A lot of Christians seem to think that they need a "Christian version" of everything--be it music (Christian rock or rap), movies, books (Christian fiction), and now their own versions of MySpace and YouTube. Many of these are just copycats and other Christians buy into them because it has the label on it, not realizing that the quality is often much lower as there's less competition.
I'm really not sure how the whole "go out into the world" thing is supposed to work when you keep making your own.
And I can say this, being a Christian myself. :)

I joined www.hisholyspace.com yesterday and worked on my profile for some hours and wrote in the blog a long entry.
Today did I see they had deleted my profile for a reason I don't know. They never wrote me and said what was wrong or gave me a warning.
I was follow the rules but I think that they judge people if a person don't like the profile.
I don't want to be on www.hisholyspace.com for a long time and have written much in the blog and get much friends and one day is it gone because someone don't like what I write even if I never abuse the rules.
It is far from that Love Jesus said we should have to people.
It seems they judge too easy.

I understand why the website exists.. buy why is there such a thing as a prayer wall on the website? How is posting your prayer online helping you reach god? Does he surf the web? Apparently...

elliothere, i couldn't agree more. imho it's better not to have these alternative websites so that those who don't believe at least have a chance to see the reflection of Christ in those who believe.
